Airman’s Spotlight: 2nd Lt. Jordan Sowden

XLer of the week: 1st Lt. Alexander Frazier
First Lieutenant Alexander Frazier, 85th Flying Training Squadron T-6A instructor pilot and flight scheduler was chosen by wing leadership to be the “XLer” of the week, for the week of Nov. 5, 2018, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The “XLer” award, presented by Col. Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, is given to those who consistently make outstanding contributions to their unit and the Laughlin mission.

Airman’s Spotlight: Col. Todd Dyer
Various community natives joined military members from past wars to today’s aviators to honor this year’s Veterans Day ceremony in Del Rio, Texas. The keynote speaker, Col. Todd Dyer, 47th Flying Training Wing vice commander, took a moment to express his thoughts on the significance of the day, and the importance that it has not only to him but to all American citizens.

2018 junior deployers claim Laughlin
The 2018 Junior Deployment brought together volunteers, leaders, parents and community members to make the opportunity possible for military children and children from the community to learn about Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas’ mission on Nov. 3, 2018. November is the month of the military family, and Master Sgt. Crystal Beckham, 47th Force Support Squadron readiness NCO and 2018 Junior Deployment coordinator, says the base saw the junior deployment as a beneficial way to bring military and community members together.
