Unit and job title: 47th Operations Support Squadron airfield systems supervisor

Why he XLed: Staff Sgt. Jeremy Dauzat, 47th Operations Support Squadron airfield systems supervisor, coordinated Laughlin’s VHF Omni-directional Range and Tactical Air Navigation System (a navigational system, or VORTAC) upgrade, a $450,000 project that he’s keeping on track and essential to Laughlin’s mission. Dauzat mapped the installation’s instrument landing system antenna cables, solidifying a $950,000 airfield fiber network installation. He repaired faulty equipment in less than 30 minutes, keeping operations on track with zero operational delay. Dauzat fixed down tower positions, troubleshooting technical issues and educating his troops on the process, ultimately saving $20,000 and restoring command and control mission capabilities. Dauzat also repaired visibility data issues and led the sensor install team that secured real-time weather information for 10,000 miles of airspace.
