Mark your calendars and get ready to experience Laughlin Air Force Base's "Fiesta of Flight" Open House, Airshow and STEAM Expo March 9, 2024.

After a six year airshow hiatus, this event expects a crowd of over 10,000 attendees. 

GATES OPEN AT 10 a.m. AND SHOW STARTS 12 p.m.

Fiesta of Flight promotes to be a memorable demonstration of our United States air power and is a family friendly event for the Del Rio community and surrounding cities. Fiesta of Flight will feature a car show, food vendors, merchandise booths, activities for children and a STEAM Expo, showcasing aspects of science, technology, art, engineering, and math for the youth to explore.

Fiesta of Flight will be a fantastic event for aviation enthusiasts, aspiring pilots, history buffs, or everyday people that want to witness some incredible aerial displays and get an inside look into our mission to build combat ready Airmen, leaders and pilots.

The event's headlining act will be the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team! The F-35A is the U.S. Air Force’s newest fifth-generation fighter. The Lightning II is a stealthy, multirole, all-weather air-to-air and surface attack fighter.

- The U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team 

- Tora! Tora! Tora!

- Laughlin’s T-6 Texan II, T-38 Talon, and T-1 Jayhawk 

- Darnell Racing Jet Truck 

- Adam Baker Extra 300 

- Altus AFB Demo (C-17 & KC-135)

- Randy Ball flying a MIG 17 and T-37 

Laughlin is one of the busiest U.S. Air Force pilot training bases, graduating more than 400 pilots in fiscal year 2023. This event will give the public a chance to see Team XL’s mission up close.

We hope to inspire the next generation of pilots, engineers, and mechanics through this excellent opportunity!

Fiesta of Flight Car Show

Laughlin AFB will be hosting a car show open to the public on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12 p.m. in conjunction with our Open House. No registration fee!

As a reminder, Laughlin AFB is a federal installation, so the following items are prohibited: (link to prohibited list)

Release of Liability: Your vehicle may be searched while on base. In consideration of the acceptance of the right to participate in the 2023 Fiesta of Flight Car Show, participants and vendors by execution of this form, release and discharge all promoters, sponsors, the State of Texas, Laughlin Air Force Base (LAFB), the United States Air Force, and their agents and employees from any and all damage and/or claims whatsoever that may be suffered by any entrant to his/her person of property. Entrant agrees to all rules and conditions governing the show and to clean up their own area at the show’s conclusion. Entrant agrees that photos of their vehicle and/or person may be used in any Laughlin AFB publication.
