Unit and job title: 47th Medical Group family health office clerk

Why she XLed: Airman 1st Class Amanda Silver, 47th Medical Group family health office clerk, supported patient administration during a personnel shortage, expediting consulting and referral processes. After absorbing a four-hour defense enrollment eligibility reporting system course, Silver eliminated redundant parts of the process, streamlining front desk protocol for four clinics. She shaped her unit’s manual operations plan when their system went down for six days, assuring that more than 1,000 appointments were handled properly. Silver delivered two briefings to 23 student pilots, empowered 24/7 medical care and was chosen by the 47th Medical Group commander as “Class Medic”. Lastly, Silver facilitated a basic life support course that certified six Airmen in vital life-saving techniques, bringing her group to 100-percent training compliance.
