LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas— Due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the local area, the 47th Flying Training Wing Commander, Colonel Lee Gentile, has directed the base transition to Health Protection Condition Charlie (HPCON C). This action is necessary to better protect the health of our people and continue the vital DoD mission we conduct.

All Laughlin AFB personnel are encouraged to take increased health precautions when leaving their home. Members should continue to practice strict hygiene measures such as frequently washing and/or sanitizing hands; wiping common-use items with disinfectant; using facial coverings when in public spaces; and staying home when sick.

If you are exposed, self-quarantine, call ahead to alert medical personnel, and contact your chain of command for further guidance. Continue to stay educated through Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announcements, routine health alerts, regular preparedness activities, and your chain of command.

Base leadership will continue to work with public health experts and make assessments on local conditions in order to maintain the health, safety, and well-being of our members.
