Maj. Gen. James Hecker, 19th Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Robert Boyer, 19th AF command chief, visited Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Dec. 4.

The goal of Hecker's and Boyer's visit was to gain a better understanding of what Laughlin needs in order to better develop America's air power.

"It's my job to go out and see what the challenges are, to see what the bases need," said Hecker. "My job is to be your voice."

Together, Hecker and Boyer started their morning with a mission brief with Laughlin's leadership, which was followed by a day of touring the base.

The day ended with an all-call, where Hecker and Boyer covered topics including taking care of Airmen and their families, professionalism and Comprehensive Airman Fitness.

Hecker ended his visit by reminding Airmen of their role in not only Laughlin's mission, but the Air Force's mission as a whole.

Hecker reminded the audience that everyone has a story so, "build a story you can tell with pride."
