Laughlin observes National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Defenders do more than scan Identification Cards at the front gate. Many have deployed overseas and have been in combat situations. For this very reason, Defenders work and train extensive hours to stay sharp at all times. Every year on Jan. 9, the nation takes a day to celebrate and honor the service of all law enforcement agencies around the country and abroad as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This includes military law enforcement’s public service to ensure members of Laughlin work and live in a safe, threat-free environment.

Some people look at an opportunity and watch it fly right by and wonder later why nothing good ever happens to them. Other people pounce when opportunity shows itself. to you or you may have to seek it out, but once it comes, you have to have the fortitude to seize it and do something with it.

STEP promotion surprises defender
April Fool’s Day came with a pleasant surprise this year for Tech. Sgt. Richard Bates, 47th Security Forces Squadron flight chief. Bates was selected by Brig. Gen.
