LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --
A free, on-base event for base personnel and their families is scheduled to kick off at the Losano Fitness Center between 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 22, 2017.
The second annual ‘FitFamilies Health Fair & Expo’ will feature exhibits from on-base and off-base agencies from the Del Rio community that promote fitness education, health and family services, and recreational activities. The event will also provide an opportunity for anyone to tour the Losano Fitness Center and the Fit Bar.
Chelsy Larson, the fitness center Fitness Program Manager, said the event is a fun opportunity to explore fitness and wellness options.
“We hope that the attendees gather a wealth of knowledge about the benefits and programs Laughlin AFB and the Del Rio community have to offer,” said Larson. “These LAFB agencies are in place to make military life a little easier, and the community has partnered with the base to compliment that goal.”
The fitness center, alongside the exhibits, will feature staff on hand to help visitors explore the area’s fitness options and offerings.
“The Health Fair & Expo will provide a great launching point for individuals to get involved in our local community,” said Larson. “(The) Losano Fitness Center will have staff available to answer any questions about what we have to offer as well.”
Larson expects the event to be a great success after experiencing a great turnout at last year’s fair coupled with a great amount of support from the base agencies and the local community.
“We are looking forward to this event,” said Larson. “It is a big deal for the Losano Fitness Center to be able to host this health fair, and to have so many wonderful people and their agencies contribute and let them know what Laughlin Air Force base has to offer.”
